MOUNT CARMEL — Eleanor V. Klinger, 64, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11.
She had been a resident of Mount Carmel since 1954, moving there from Locust Summit, her place of birth.
She was the eighth of nine children born to the late Elmer and Margaret (Rowe) Klinger.
Ellie was employed the last 50 years as a seamstress in local area factories. Her last place of employment was with The Gitman Brothers Company in Ashland. She was a valued employee, well known and admired by her employers and employees.
She is survived by four brothers, Raymond and wife Lou of Waco, Texas, Elmer and wife Emma of Landsdale, Robert and wife Brenda of Panama City, Fla., and Marlin and wife Sandy of Clayton, N.C; two sisters, Carole Wetzel of Landsdale and Edith Fetterman and husband Harry of Jim Thorpe; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that mourn her passing. She was preceded in passing by her parents; a brother, Herbert; and a sister, Doris.
Ellie embraced the Protestant faith and lived a good life. She was a loving sister and positive soul that often took the role of peacemaker. The family wants to thank her co-workers for their prayers and generosity, also Bob and Margaret Lutz and Joe Saukaitis for the care and transportation they provided during Ellie's long illness. A special "Thank You" to the medical staff and caregivers at Geisinger Medical Center. You made her suffering bearable.

E. KINGER, 77, DIES AT HOME WEST OF THE CITY
Widow and Six Children Survive Well-Known Resident of County
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Elias Klinger, 77 aged and well known resident of Kosciusko County, died Sunday evening at 9:20 at his home six miles west of Warsaw. Mr. Klinger was born in Pennsylvania and came to this county when 16 years of age.
In 1873 he was married to Mary Ellen Wright, who survives with six children. The children are: Edward, of northeast Leesburg; Albert, of South Bend; Mrs Nettie Cinninger, of Donnybrook, N. Dakota; Mrs Viola McFarren, of east of Warsaw; Mrs. Grace Norris, of Atwood; Mrs. Ruby Cauffman, of east of Claypool and eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Loma Ruch, of Elkhart, survives.
Mr. Klinger was confined to his bed for one week before his death, but had been in failing health about three weeks. Death was due to infirmities of advanced age and a complication.
Funeral services will be held at the Atwood United Brethren Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. Mr Klinger was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Melvin Hissong, of near Warsaw, who was raised from a little child by Mr. Klinger, also survives.

Widow and Six Children Survive Well-Known Resident of County
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Elias Klinger, 77 aged and well known resident of Kosciusko County, died Sunday evening at 9:20 at his home six miles west of Warsaw. Mr. Klinger was born in Pennsylvania and came to this county when 16 years of age.
In 1873 he was married to Mary Ellen Wright, who survives with six children. The children are: Edward, of northeast Leesburg; Albert, of South Bend; Mrs Nettie Cinninger, of Donnybrook, N. Dakota; Mrs Viola McFarren, of east of Warsaw; Mrs. Grace Norris, of Atwood; Mrs. Ruby Cauffman, of east of Claypool and eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Loma Ruch, of Elkhart, survives.
Mr. Klinger was confined to his bed for one week before his death, but had been in failing health about three weeks. Death was due to infirmities of advanced age and a complication.
Funeral services will be held at the Atwood United Brethren Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. Mr Klinger was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Melvin Hissong, of near Warsaw, who was raised from a little child by Mr. Klinger, also survives.
