Nancy Jean Renner

     Nancy Jean Renner and an unknown person were divorced. Robert Warner and Nancy Jean Renner had a relationship, but no marriage records were found for them. Nancy graduated high school 1969 in Syracuse, NY and left to attend the Univ. of Hawaii; while there she met Robert Warner. Warner got mixed up with people who burned down the ROTC building on campus; as a consequence he went into hiding ['the underground'] and Nancy went with him. They were heading to Canada to hide-out and on the way were given refuge by some monks in a monastery in Vermont where Sunshine was born; later they lived ca 3 years in Montreal where Hopi was born.

As Nancy told the story, they were never 'officially' married at the time of the ROTC incident, and only later, the official records were doctored to make it appear that they had actually gotten married so to prevent the government from compelling her, as wife, to testify against Warner. Eventually, Warner gave himself up and served ca 4 months in the Allentown, Pennysylvania federal prison; at this time Nancy & Warner had been having difficulties in their 'marriage' but she decided to move near Allentown to attempt to work things out upon his release - things didn't work out and Warner moved on and Nancy stayed in the area several years while raising her 2 boys.

Nancy and the boys moved to Eugene, OR in 1979 near the same time that Del moved there in Sep 1979 after his discharge from the Navy. Nancy and Del met in a mutual class at Lane Community College in March 1980. She married Delmer De Groves, son of Delmer Wayne Groves and Mary Lou Boylen, on 5 June 1982 in Eugene, OR.
