John was a public-spirited citizen, taking a hand in public affairs and filling a number of local offices, he was also a supervisor of Washington and Jordan townships for several years. John S. Daniel Sr. died on 3 September 1897 in Northumberland Co., PA, at age 83. He was buried after 3 September 1897 in St. Peter's (Red Cross) Church Cemetery, Mahanoy, Northumberland Co., PA.

Kermit Isaiah Daniel was baptized on 26 January 1913 in Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville, Dauphin Co., PA. He married Ethel M. Troxell, daughter of Harry Franklin Troxell and Mazie Dorella Umholtz, circa 1930 in PA. He was a surveyor and accountant. He died on 6 September 1986 in an automobile accident three miles west of Gratz, PA. Kermit Isaiah Daniel was buried on 10 September 1986 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, Dauphin Co., PA.
